Runs and clearing
A scrim reuses itself. Clearing is how it resets between days.
What a run is
A run is everything between two clears. With auto-clear on that is one scrim day. With it off, a run can span several days until somebody clears it.
Registrations stay in the database after a clear. Seats, slot lists and the sheet start empty.
What a clear does
- Takes the captain and waitlist roles back.
- Applies bans from the sheet (if that option is automatic), then resets the lobby tabs from the template.
- Deletes unpinned messages in the registration, waitlist and slot channels, then the slot lists and admin panels.
- Counts bans down by one day.
- Posts the run report in the log channel.
- Opens the next run.
It can take a minute or two. If a clear stops part way, Continue clear picks it up where it left off.
When it happens
- Automatically one hour before the next day's first registration, if Auto-clear is on. That is the VIP open when you have one, the public open otherwise.
- With a warning in the admin channel at that time, if auto-clear is off. Nothing is deleted until you clear.
- By hand any time after a scrim has started.
In Discord
A Clear day… button appears on the dashboard home once a scrim start has passed. It shows what will happen and asks you to confirm. If registration is under way you also get a warning, because clearing then wipes the seats of teams still registering.
On the web dashboard
The Overview tab has the same Clear day control and the same confirmation. The Runs tab lists past runs, and Activity shows recent actions.
Pause, cancel, disable, delete
- Pause until…
- Skip scheduled days until a date. The scrim resumes on the first scheduled day after it.
- Cancel day…
- Close today's remaining windows. Only while today is live. Resume day reverses it.
- Disable
- A scrim can be switched off by low turnout, a plan change or staff. Nothing runs while it is off. Enable brings it back.
- Delete
- Under General (Discord) or Scrim (web). Permanent.
