Terms of Service

The terms that govern use of Axis Sage by server owners, administrators, and members.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Axis Sage , an AI-powered Discord bot operated by Axis Labs .

By adding Axis Sage to a Discord server, configuring it, or interacting with it, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the bot.

Use of Axis Sage on Discord must also comply with Discord's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, Developer Terms of Service, and Developer Policy. If these Terms conflict with Discord's terms regarding Discord platform rules or Discord API Data, Discord's terms control for that conflict.

About Axis Labs and Axis Sage

  • Axis Sage is the Discord bot
  • Axis Labs is the operator and developer of Axis Sage

Axis Labs is not a registered business entity. References to "we," "us," or "our" mean Axis Labs as the operator of Axis Sage.

Eligibility and Authority

Server owners and designated administrators are responsible for:

  • Deciding whether Axis Sage is appropriate for their community
  • Configuring the bot correctly
  • Ensuring content added to the knowledge base is appropriate
  • Ensuring website URLs added for ingestion are permitted

You represent that you have the authority to configure the bot and add content on behalf of the server you manage.

Axis Sage is intended for communities that meet Discord's age requirements. Do not direct the bot toward people under 13, or under the minimum age required by law in their country if higher.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Axis Sage to:

  • Violate Discord's Terms of Service, Developer Terms, Developer Policy, or Community Guidelines
  • Harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Attempt to bypass usage limits, security controls, or access restrictions
  • Submit URLs or content you do not have the right to use
  • Use the bot in a way that interferes with its operation or the experience of other servers
  • Misrepresent the bot's answers as official legal, medical, financial, or safety advice without human review
  • Collect passwords, tokens, or other Discord credentials through the bot
  • Use the bot to profile Discord users, discriminate, or make eligibility decisions for employment, housing, insurance, or similar benefits based on Discord API Data

Axis Sage assists users. A person should make any important decision.

Knowledge Base Content

Your Responsibility

Administrators are responsible for all content added to a server's knowledge base, including:

  • Google Doc content linked from the dashboard
  • Website page URLs configured for ingestion

You must only add content that:

  • You own, or
  • You have permission or a license to use, or
  • Is appropriately public for your intended use

Axis Labs does not review every server's knowledge base content before ingestion.

Sensitive Information

Do not add content that should not be shared, including:

  • Passwords or credentials
  • Private personal information
  • Confidential business records
  • Protected health, financial, or other sensitive information under applicable law
  • Information inappropriate for automated responses

Website Sources

When configuring website page URLs:

  • You may only add specific URLs that administrators choose. Axis Sage does not browse the open internet on its own.
  • Axis Sage fetches only the exact URLs you configure during ingestion. It does not automatically crawl an entire website.
  • Pages blocked by a site's robots.txt will not be ingested.
  • Private addresses, internal networks, and Discord-related domains cannot be added.
  • You must have the right to use the content on any page you configure.

Answers based on website content may include a link back to the original page when available.

Discord Data

Axis Sage reads message content from configured channels to answer questions. It does not persistently store Discord message history.

Discord message content is used only to provide the bot's stated functionality. It is not used to train machine learning models.

Axis Sage does not sell, license, or commercialize Discord API Data, and does not share it with data brokers or advertising networks.

Service Availability and Changes

Axis Sage is provided on an "as available" basis. We may:

  • Update, modify, or discontinue features
  • Apply usage limits
  • Temporarily suspend service for maintenance or security reasons
  • Change these Terms or related policies

We try to keep the service reliable but cannot guarantee it will always be available.

Usage Limits

Servers are subject to usage limits, including limits on:

  • Monthly chat requests (weighted by the selected response model)
  • Monthly ingestions (weighted by the selected embedding model)
  • Configured website URLs (20 by default)

Higher-cost models consume more of the monthly allowance per response or ingestion. The dashboard model picker shows the usage multiplier for each option.

Disclaimers

Axis Sage uses AI to generate responses. Answers may be:

  • Incomplete
  • Incorrect
  • Outdated if the knowledge base has not been updated

Do not rely on the bot as the sole source for critical decisions. Verify important information independently.

Axis Labs is not responsible for moderation decisions, policy enforcement, or outcomes based on bot-generated responses.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Axis Labs is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of Axis Sage.

Our total liability for any claim related to the bot is limited to zero, because Axis Sage is currently provided without charge.

Termination

You may stop using Axis Sage at any time by removing the bot from your server.

We may suspend or terminate access if a server violates these Terms, abuses the service, or creates security or legal risk.

When the bot is removed from a server, associated data is handled according to the Privacy Policy .

Reporting Issues

To report bugs, abuse, policy violations, or security concerns:

Provide as much detail as possible to help us investigate.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document.

Continued use of Axis Sage after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
